LG has introduced the latest technology cinema 3D which is also known as Passive 3D. Now days, this technology is attractive for every American but it has some competition, we have to talk about active-shutter glasses that have so many drawbacks like quickly blocking the left and right lenses to instantly fresh frames on TV, picture distortion, image overlapping, dizziness, flickering, low brightness and a much less vivid picture.

But LG has pulled away from every shortcoming of active-shutter glasses.. You will get the perfect 3D effect when you see both sets of images combined. With the passive 3D system like in the theater, the passive glasses are polarized and each eye will see different images & produces excellent 3D effect.

Active-shutter glasses are more expensive, heavier and not as easy to use as their passive counterpart. Active-shutter glasses produce headaches while watching 3D TV. Passive glasses are much more affordable and reasonable than Active-shutter glasses, with prices approximately from 4$ to 35$ dependent upon consumer requirement, but active-shutter glasses that are available in the market range 110$ to 245$. LG ensures that with its new technology passive 3D TVs can be made much cheaper. Active and Passive glasses are now incompatible with each other in the 3D TV battlefield.

                      

Now, LG has stopped manufacturing active-shutter 3D displays and is only producing passive 3D displays all over the world and also planning for an OLED model in 2012.

The Active-shutter glasses horror has been removed from the market, now we can use lighter, more affordable passive 3d glasses.

Also remember that active is only 60Hz vs. 240Hz of a passive 3D TV. LG is the only manufacturer certified as flicker-free 3D by Intertek and TUV to date. Finally, LG claims that it causes no drop will appear in brightness for 2D content as well in its cinema 3D TVs.
