We recently witnessed that the Iphone 5 scored more than 1600 points at the Geekbench benchmark, nearly twice as fast as the new Ipad. However recently it has been known that the A6 processor inside the Iphone 5 is clocked at 1.3 GHz,instead of the reported 1 GHz.
This was revealed by an updated Geekbench 2.3.6 result, with the new version coming yesterday to account for more granular processor frequency detection.
The 1.3 GHz discovery prompted speculation yesterday whether the iPhone 5 goes into temporary overclock under peak loads, but Prime Lab's John Poole disagrees: "I don't believe the A6 has any form of processor boost. In our testing, we found the 1.3GHz was constant regardless of whether one core or both cores were busy."
